BC Waterpolo Association 2009 - 2010 Annual Award Nominations

The deadline for receipt of nominations is May 15th.

The categories are:

VOLUNTEER OF YEAR

This person should have demonstrated excellent service to the sport of water polo at community, regional, and/or provincial level.  Commitment, positive attitude, and initiative are all characteristics that are important in a nominee for this award

CLUB ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR

This person must be involved in an administrative aspect of Club Operations. They have demonstrated strong organizational skills, reliability and enthusiasm for Water Polo. They are committed to the development of their club and its members.

COACH OF THE YEAR

A nominee should support fair play, sportsmanship, and respect to players, officials, and fellow coaches.  This person should be a positive role model for their players and be committed to motivating athletes and encouraging their development.

OUTSTANDING PLAYER OF THE YEAR (a male and female award for each of bantam, cadet, and juvenile categories)**

This athlete is to be determined based on criteria for commitment to sport, athlete improvement, sportsmanship and fair play, contribution to BCWPA, and athlete accomplishments. Please fill out the following to the best of your ability.  We understand that not all younger players will have had an opportunity to contribute to BCWPA by way of refereeing, coaching, and volunteering.

ATHLETE OF THE YEAR  (female and male, any age category)**
This athlete will have made a substantial impact on their team’s performance and demonstrated exceptional ability in the sport of water polo.

OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR
This person should have demonstrated excellent service in the area of Officiating in the province. Commitment, service and excellence are all a part of this award.

The award ceremony itself will be held on June 6, 2010 prior to the BCWPA Annual General Meeting
