2008 Annual Growth & Leadership Summit
WPC and BC Water Polo is pleased to officially announce the 2008 Growth & Leadership Summit will be held September 19-21, in Richmond, BC.

It is really important that you encourage all your stakeholders to attend this event. This will be a new innovative learning experience, as the event will discuss NT programs, LTAD, NCCP, and most importantly Dragan and Pat will be running drills with local athletes of all ages instructing club coaches what needs to be taught at each level. Other key note speakers include Dr Istvan Balyi- LTAD expert and Annette Wildgoose- Sport Canada. Every few weeks I will be sending reminders and updates about the event, as more information is made available. If anyone has any feedback or suggestions on how we can make this event the best learning opportunity for all attendees and WPC stakeholders, please do share your opinions.
Finally, we have decided to streamline all registration through the PSOs. There are 3 dates with registration fees attached to each date. WPC would like to receive cheques only from the PSOs and not each attendee. Please make sure registration forms are sent electronically to myself and Karen Schaefer, while cheques are sent to Debbie Villeneuve at the WPC office. I may suggest that you offer each club a registration discount, for example, for every 4 persons attending per club the PSO will pay for the 5th. This is not mandatory, just a suggestion to induce clubs to send as many people as possible. With regards to the OWG meetings, WPC will help subsidize the cost of sending your OWG rep to the Summit. This will be done on a sliding scale; $150 for Alberta, $250 for Saskatchewan, $350 for Manitoba, $450 for Quebec and Ontario.
I am really looking forward to this event, as this will be a great opportunity for us as a community to regain confidence in one and other, and open the lines of communication. We are entering a new era in WPC, and the Summit will kick off the new beginning. Once again, please pass this info along to everyone on your e-mail list and post on your web sites.
