I would like to invite all Team BC parents out for a Hospitality/Information Night. This event with be held at Fleetwood Pool in Surrey on March 18, 2009 at 8pm.
This is a great opportunity for all parents to ask questions, voice your concerns, receive information so that we are all on the same page.

All of the information is located at www.bcwaterpolo.com under the sub-heading “Team BC”. There you can find information on Practice Times, Team BC Plan, Hawaii and Player Code of Conducts.
There is a Team BC Committee that is in place that oversees the Team BC program and they can be helpful as well:

I know that this session will be tough for the Island members to make so, I will call each parent individually to offer the same service.

Also, I will be attending the Alberta Open and Spring Siesta so, feel free to approach me at those tournaments as well.

BC Water Polo is pleased to announce Ian Mitchell as the Head Coach of the Provincial Team BC. Ian comes with much experience as an accomplished water polo coach to include 2 years as Head Coach of the Canadian National Youth Men’s Team (2006 & 2007); Also Ian has coached the men’s program for Pacific Storm winning Cadet Club Nationals in 2005 in addition to being an integral part of developing the Fraser Valley Water Polo Club.

Both summer and LMWPL clubs such as the Haney Neptune’s, Coquitlam Lions, Abbotsford Whalers and Burnaby Barracudas have been fortunate to have Ian Mitchell as part of their coaching team. Ian is also a recognized referee and was an accomplished water polo athlete.

Ian looks forward to developing a successful Team BC and Training Centre with the aid and support of other coaches in order to produce superior athletes preparing them for future water polo challenges.

Updates (February 26, 2009)

All Team BC selected athletes with the exception of the Junior National Team girls are required to respond to Jane Vanjoff and Ian Michtell prior to March 12th, 2009 to confirm their committment and attendance to the Hawaiian Invitational Tournament scheduled for August 1st - 9th, 2009. In addition, the first installment in the amount of $500.00 has been moved up by two weeks to March 12th in order to meet tournament registration deadlines. Payment schedule as follows:

March 12th, 2009 May 22nd, 2009 July 17th, 2009	Hawaii - 1st Installment Hawaii - 2nd Installment Hawaii - Final Installment	$500.00 $500.00 $250.00 + TBD
