2009 Hawaiian Invitational Results

Team BC Roster

Coaches:

Hawaii: Friday Recap

U18 boys played in the morning then later in the day, the U18 Boys, U16 boys and U16 girls came and supported the U18 girls in their QTR finals. All of our teams are in the semi-finals (top 4 for each age category).

• U16 girls play at 11:10 am (Hawaii) against the New Zealand U16 National team.
• Then each of the other teams have their semi-final at the same time at 3 different pools:

• Ian Mitchell will coach the U18 Boys who play against Brazil at 12:50 pm (Hawaii)
• John Stockdale and Faye Anstey will coach the U18 girls who play against Norcal at 12:50 pm (Hawaii)
• Ferenc Vindisch will coach U16 boys who play against Hawaiian Islands at 12:50 pm.(Hawaii)

Hawaii: Thursday Recap

• U18 Boys are first in their pool and are playing Honolulu at their Qtr final Friday morning at 8:40 am (Hawaii)
• U16 Girls are second in their pool and will play New Zealand at their semi-final on Saturday morning at 11:10 am
• U16 Boys are playing their final round robin game at 3:20 pm on Friday afternoon
• U18 Girls are first in their pool and are playing Costa at their semi-final on Friday afternoon at 1:40 pm (Hawaii)

Today was a good day. We finished our games by 3 pm and the barbeque was enjoyed by all at 4 pm.
At 5 pm we headed down to the Waikiki beach where a professional photographer took team pictures.

Tomorrow afternoon we plan on the teams watching each others games.

Hawaii: Wednesday Recap

Our U18 girls and boys and U16 boys are expected to be first in their pools and our U16 girls second as long as they continue to play well.

The U18 boys game was quite rough today against Stanton but our boys kept calm and in control of their game.
The U16 boys have a big game tomorrow.

Wednesday we were done our games by 1:30 pm. After the games; all the kids came back to the hotel and rested.
At 3:30 pm - the girls went shopping. The boys went to the international market. At 6 pm the boys and the girls went to the beach and had an awesome time.

Next up:

U18 boy leave for their game at 7 am while the rest of the team get to sleep in till 9 am.
After the events of the day we are planning our team barbeque for 4 pm and hoping to make it to the beach by 6 pm

Hawaii: Pre-trip Details:

1. Last Saturday practice – Aug 1st 2009

2. Last Sunday practice – Aug 2nd 2009

3. Coaches Fly to Hawaii on Sunday evening at 6:45pm in order to attend the coaches technical meeting on the Monday evening.

4. The team flies to Hawaii on Monday evening at 6:45pm. Remember to check-in at the airport with your chaperone by 4:30 pm.

We will send updates to the BC Waterpolo office each night with an update of the results of the games and any pictures that we possibly can.

The suits and Team BC clothing has come in and was distributed last Sunday.

We are still waiting for the game schedule and will distribute asap.

All Athlete Travel forms and copies of page 2 of your passport and a copy of your extended insurance policy should have been handed in to your chaperones.
